We are looking for a Data Science Platform developer.
Responsibilities:
The Advanced Business Analytics team (ABA) drives with AI (Artificial Intelligence) and data analytics the Single Digital Agenda of our customer worldwide.
The mission is to transform insurance processes and to generate data-driven impact with the help of Artificial Intelligence and other data technologies.
To empower our customer, there are three main supporting pillars:
a Data Science Platform, a Data lab and a Competence Centre.
The Data Science Platform (DSP) empowers the customer in developing, deploying and operating data driven products end to end. Our goal is to reduce time from idea to delivery following the DevOps philosophy.
The DSP provides a scalable, fault-tolerant, self-service, integrated, security-approved environment at a competitive price.
A platform developer has to support this vision with the following responsibilities:
• develop new functionalities for the DSP
• evaluate new technologies in the field of cloud computing, distributed computing, data engineering and data science
• resolve incidents and change requests
• support customers
• write user guides, announcements, blog posts and best practices
• prepare webinars and trainings

Must-haves:

The platform is a diverse product, so we are aiming for a cross functional team consisting of T-shaped individuals.
• Experience with POSIX compliant operating systems (Linux, MacOS etc.)
• infrastructure as code
• metrics and log management
• virtualization
• computer networks

Software Development
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (there are components written in Go, Scala, Python, Elm, JavaScript, ...)
• Software engineering (design patterns, version control, automated testing, concurrent programming etc.)
• Continuous integration, deployment and delivery
Tools
• Issue tracking (Jira)
• Documentation (Markdown)
• Build infrastructure (Gitlab CI, Jenkins)
• Artifact repository (Nexus)
• Version control (Gitlab)
• Deployment and configuration automation (Ansible, Puppet)
Other Skills
• Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English (German or other languages are a Nice-To-Have)
• DevOps mindset (you build it, you run it; taking responsibility for your work)
Open source (being able to interact with and contribute to open source projects)
